Evan has been doing some research at the Barossa Bushgardens, in preparation for the next phase of our planned native plantings. Since 2014, we have planted 3000 native plants around the Stonewell property as part of our commitment to improving the biodiversity of our region and our action to improve the environment This year, we plan to plant another 700-1000 trees, shrubs, bushes, reeds and grasses that are all native to the Barossa.

There has been a lot of native planting happening at the cottages with Evan and his team planting 1150 Barossa native trees, shrubs, bushes and reeds around the property to help our continuous improvement of the bio diversity of the Stonewell Vineyards and Cottage grounds. In total this will take the native plantings to 4150 Barossa natives over the last 5 years. Giving back to our natural environment is important to us here at Stonewell.
Introducing our new soup and dessert maker – Barossa Street Food. Emily, Ash and Nathan now supply us with the most delicious smoked hock, lentil vegetable soup, or, curried vegetable lentil soup, served with a crusty roll. For dessert, scrumptious sticky date pudding with caramel sauce and Jersey Fresh cream. You can add this in-room meal to your booking by placing an order through our website. It’s a great way to start your stay, just settle in, stoke up the fire, pour a glass of red, no need to go anywhere. This meal is also included in our Winter Warmer Package which runs until the end of August.

Our guests are off to a fabulous start to the day, a relaxing carriage ride through the Barossa with Rob the coachman and Jasper and Harry from Barossa Carriages. Stopping at Kalleske Wines, then onto Hentley Farm for guided wine tastings, followed by a shared lunch at Fino restaurant and concluding with a Heritage Tour of Seppeltsfield Estate.
